Future by Design has been around the disability sector for many years, advocating for strong leadership and good policy. We’ve worked in Australia, North America, the Philippines, Singapore and New Zealand, teaching and supporting people to ask powerful questions and have productive conversations about the issues that matter to them. Including the NDIS.
There is nothing more exciting than being in a place where people from all parts of the service system - government, non-government and community, and people with disability and families are present and talk and argue about how we as a society could do better. And we can do better.
The promise of the NDIS was enough to get us seriously excited in the beginning and it has already made a big difference in the lives of many people. But the lovely warm glow of future possibility has faded somewhat. This is conversation we intend to start.
So what are we up to?
We are growing a family run NDIS plan management business which will always be independent. We will never offer direct service delivery, just great communication and fast payment of your invoices (yes you can quote us on that!).
We are in start up mode on a web-based app for shaping, tracking and reporting on how you are travelling on reaching your goals.
We are getting ready to hit the road and talk to you and your friends and family about whether YOU’RE FLYING YET!
And our invitation to you...
Is to write, ring or shout your thoughts on how the NDIS is going and how we can reignite the spark - the dreams of a good life, the agitation for change to mediocre service delivery, the system being not just administrative but TRANSFORMATIONAL.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams
